Announcing Reson8+
Reson8+ takes Reson8 a small step forward without changing direction.
For the last 10 years I have made soundscapes that resemble those at the end of 'I Am Sitting In A Room' by Alvin Lucier; first using his process to create the sounds, then creating them directly from vocal samples or live inputs using Reson8. This discipline remains at the heart of my work.
Reson8+ allows me to add to the Reson8 soundscape at any moment, giving additional insights and commenting on the sounds. I have two new tools for doing this: firstly Granulation which allows me to create a more pointillistic version of the soundscape; secondly Instrumental Sounds (primarily plucked strings and percussion) which can add pitched, percussive effects to the spectral Reson8 sounds.
I am now embarking on a new journey of exploration to see how the very selective use of these new sounds can enhance my performances.
